Wild Salisbury 2025

Bat Night in June 2024 – from Queen Elizabeth Gardens along the Towpath across Harnham Water Meadows
We are excited to announce that we will be running a series of fifteen open events in Salisbury over the course of 2025, sharing our wildlife knowledge and mindfulness practices. Our aim is to empower Salisbury residents to explore and appreciate the abundance of wildlife that lives in and around our beautiful city. We will share top tips for noticing nature, including looking out for the small things. All the while connecting with new humans and enjoying some good food too!
Huge thanks to Salisbury Transition City for awarding us funding to subsidise the first full year of events, enabling us to run “Wild Salisbury 2025”.

What kind of events will there be?
Whether you’re interested in bats, birds or butterflies, enjoying coffee and cake or watching the sunset mindfully, we have something for you! Who are the events for?
Our events are suitable for anyone interested in wildlife and wellbeing who wants to spend time in nature with others, learning new things. We are proud to be an inclusive organisation. We welcome all people at our events. We value diversity, and aim to create a community that reflects the breadth of people in our local society, including marginalised people. We ask people to share any medical, mobility, dietary or other needs on booking, so we can plan activities (and snacks!) that are suitable for all.
We work in locations that are accessible and encourage people to arrive by active travel and/or by public transport. We will make at least half of the events accessible for people with limited mobility.

Where will the events be?
We will utilise Salisbury’s amazing greenspaces including:
- Harnham Water Meadows
- Avon Valley Nature Reserve
- Castle Hill Country Park
- Queen Elizabeth Gardens
- The Secret Garden, Bourne Hill
Plus, in the colder months, we will hire community venues, including the Quaker Meeting House.
